Update on bere:architect's research into air quality in Passive Houses
This feature, commissioned by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Journal, provides an update of some of the latest research on air quality in Passive House (Passivhaus) homes in the UK. Very high air quality was found in all conditions tested. Humidity from indoor clothes drying during winter months was found to be quickly eliminated by heat recovery ventilation and optimal conditions were found at all times. In a test comparing a Passive House with an ordinary house in the same street, harmful PM2.5 particulates were found to be much lower in the Passive House than in the ordinary house.
